John Williamson Named President and CEO of Atkore International
Harvey, IL – May 6, 2011 – Atkore International today announced John P. Williamson as president and chief executive officer of Atkore International, effective June 1, 2011. He will be located at the company’s headquarters in Harvey, IL.
“John brings a strong customer focus, global experience and a strong track record of outstanding results,” said Philip Knisely, Chairman-Atkore International.
He added, “John’s operational expertise and leadership skills in driving improvements in quality, delivery, cost and innovation are well suited to helping Atkore reach its full potential. We are excited for him to join the team.”
Most recently, Mr. Williamson spent six years with ITT Corporation. In 2009, he was named president of the Water & Wastewater division, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. From 2007-2009, he was president of the Residential and Commercial Water division, based in Chicago, IL and from 2005-2007, he was corporate vice president and director for operational excellence for ITT.
Prior to his time with ITT, Mr. Williamson spent 17 years with Danaher Corporation, including senior vice president of global operations for the Fluke division with worldwide manufacturing, supply chain, quality, IT, service and continuous improvement responsibilities.
Mr. Williamson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from California State University Fullerton and holds a Certificate in Strategic Marketing Management from Harvard Business School.
