Atkore International President and CEO Announces Intention to Leave

HARVEY, ILLINOIS – MAY 2, 2011 – Atkore International President and CEO, Nelda Connors, today announced her intention to leave the company to pursue other opportunities. Phil Knisely, Chairman of Atkore International, will provide leadership on a day-to-day basis until a new CEO is announced. Ms. Connors, who has been assisting Mr. Knisely in the search for her replacement, will continue to provide support to the Atkore organization throughout the month of May.

Mr. Knisely said, “Nelda’s guidance through tough economic times and throughout the transition associated with the establishment of Atkore has been crucial. On behalf of all of us at Atkore, I would like to thank her for her efforts and wish her well in her future endeavors.”

Mr. Knisely also emphasized, “We have a very strong leadership team, great products and outstanding sales people and distribution partners. I look forward to working with the team to enhance our customer experience, strengthen our business performance, and improve our competitive position in the markets we serve.”

Philip Knisely is Chairman-Atkore International and an Advisory Partner at Clayton Dubilier & Rice, the private equity firm that holds 51% ownership of Atkore International. He retired from Danaher Corporation in 2010 where he served for ten years as Executive Vice President and Corporate Officer. Mr. Knisely was a member of the Office of the Chief Executive managing the performance, corporate strategy, and organization evolution of the $12 billion manufacturing company. Prior to that, he was co-founder, president and CEO of Colfax Corporation and president of AMF Industries. He also worked at Emerson Electric Company. Mr. Knisely holds a BSIE from General Motors Institute and an MBA from the Darden School of Business.
