At Atkore, we are intentional about developing great leaders. It starts with Onboarding and Immersion which facilitates networking and relationship building, empowering employees to be successful within the business units and across the broader organization.

Atkore manages talent through a robust Performance Management System that encompasses candor and transparency. Annual formal Organizational Leadership Reviews (OLR) determine succession planning and development, managed through action plans and training programs that facilitate development. Atkore leaders seek to hire talent that can become their successors, as they set their own path to reach for their next role within the organization.

Much of Atkore’s success is due to the ability to lead others in understanding and contributing to Atkore’s Strategic Priorities. First and foremost, leaders are expected to be effective communicators with their teams. We focus on the 4 C’s of Communication:

  • Content | The right message delivered in a clear manner
  • Consistency | Common language and alignment with strategy
  • Cadence | Regular & repeatable two-way communication
  • Carry | Drives information across and down through organization

The primary channels of communication are monthly 1 on 1 performance discussions with each direct report, to help drive employee engagement and gain alignment with the company’s mission, values, and strategic priorities; and include employee town halls at local, business unit and enterprise levels, employee roundtables that provide opportunities to review and discuss strategic initiatives, performance, in the form of feedback and also action to remove obstacles and share best practices.
