Full-Service Construction Firm Completes Canadian Solar Project

When Resco Energy was looking for a vendor to build a 140kw solar power system on the vehicle storage garage in Kingston, Ontario, their objective was to locate a single source that could complete the project from design through installation. Since this wasn’t a traditional set-up, they needed to find a supplier with a wide-range of construction related capabilities.

Because it is one of the most vertically integrated solar suppliers in the industry, Unistrut® Canada was the obvious choice. They have the ability to handle all aspects of a solar racking system including: design, fabrication, material supply and installation services. Additionally, their wide-range of construction experience in a number of different industries gave them the capability to effectively handle and meet all of the project requirements.

Product expertise was vital in developing the optimum design and installation for this particular job. By supplying product and doing the fabrication in-house, they were able to deliver ready-to-install parts directly to the job site. This streamlined the supply chain and saved labor costs. The end result was a fully functioning roof mounted solar system that required approximately 2000 ft of I-beams, 8000 ft of Unistrut channel and all the associated support posts, panel clips and hardware.
