Contractor Council Meetings Aid in Building Relationships
AFC Cable Systems®, Inc. has organized and kicked off what they plan to be annual Contractor Council Meetings. The AFC Contractors Council is an organized group of electrical construction leaders with the goal of improving contractor to manufacturer interfacing for the development of the industry.
The June meeting provided an opportunity to speak directly with AFC’s key team members from Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing. The 15 electrical contractors came from across the country to AFC’s headquarters in New Bedford, MA. They participated in plant tours and had many opportunities to ask questions as well as interface with the plant and process engineering supervisors along the way. When the tour was concluded, they met over lunch and received in-depth product training while sharing their ‘real life’ experiences in electrical construction. The meeting closed with another round of Q & A during which time the contractors were asked to share their thoughts and ideas in the areas of new product development, improved service, and NEC Code issues. They also discussed how best to explore future partnerships between them, AFC and other Atkore electrical businesses.
When asked his thoughts about the importance of meeting with electrical construction professionals, AFC’s President, Robert Pereira said, “This was great exposure for both AFC and other Atkore business leaders to understand our user community’s expectations and how we can translate that into improved value in our products, services and technical capabilities… ultimately for mutual growth.” He ended by saying, “Building strong relationships with key decision-makers is crucial to our success. We welcome all opportunities to interface directly with people who use our products.”
