The UMass Boston Arts/Science Center is a $113 million dollar construction project that recently broke ground.  It features 25 classrooms, 4 discussion halls, a 500 seat lecture hall and a theater that will hold up to 200 people. The facility is expected to be open for student use by the summer of 2015.

The 181,000 square foot facility upon completion will feature over 100,000 sq feet of MC Tuff® IG, (the Isolated Ground Lightweight Steel MC Cable) manufactured by AFC Cable Systems®.

The steel armor specification was created with the electrical engineer, Vanderweil, which included circuit sizes as well as AFC’s FACC Cable (Fire Alarm/Control Cable).
